What content should I put on my website?

What content should I put on my website?

Websites shouldn’t just be static brochures. They should be vibrant creations that keep getting updated – especially the content.

So here are five types of content you could keep updating:

1. Website pages

When you first created your website, you probably included a couple of pages about your services and your contact details. You could also add:

2. Blogs

Blogs are a great way to keep your website content fresh and increase your search engine ranking.

3. Ebooks

Ebooks are a great way to drive people to your website. If you request readers’ email addresses before they can download the ebook, you can also use them to increase your email marketing list.

4. Infographics

You can include an infographic instead of a blog, but make sure it’s mobile-friendly. The content on the infographic needs to be as concise as possible, and it should also be updated as the information changes.

For example, a real estate agent could publish a monthly infographic about their local property market.

A financial planner could use a cartoon character to explain investing to clients, who might otherwise find the concepts daunting.

5. Links to social media pages

If you’re regularly posting information on your social media pages, you could tease that information on your website to encourage people to follow you on social media.

For example, a credit repair agency could write on their website: “Follow me on LinkedIn to learn how to get a free credit report.”

(If you’re not regularly posting on social media, talk to Hunter & Scribe about writing social media posts for you on an ongoing basis. We write them, schedule them and notify you, so you can check them before they go live.)
