Is your small business struggling with cash flow and financing?

If so, you might be interested to learn that Australia’s small business ombudsman, Kate Carnell, has announced a review into the impact of supply chain financing on small businesses.

The review will examine:

  • How small businesses can use supply chain finance to better manage their cash flow and fund growth
  • How small businesses are being impacted by supply chain finance arrangements
  • What supply chain finance offerings bigger businesses are using in response to extended payment times

A review into payment times, which was held earlier this year, discovered that bigger businesses were being offered supply chain finance arrangements in return for earlier payments to suppliers.

Since then, “a significant number of small businesses” have contacted the ombudsman about supply chain financing arrangements.

The small business ombudsman will release its final report by the end of April 2020.
