1. Create content your audience is interested in
Some brands go all out to create impressive videos that don’t hit the mark with their target audience. Why does it fail to attract viewers? Because it isn’t relevant to their interests.
According to a Google survey, when a video relates to a viewer’s passions, they are 3 times more likely to watch it than if it had a famous celebrity in it and 1.6 times more likely to watch it than one with high production value.
2. Pay attention to SEO
YouTube is the second biggest search engine after Google. So, pay attention to search engine optimisation (SEO). Choose a keyword and include it in your video title, meta description, and tags.
Seventy per cent of what people watch on YouTube is determined by an algorithm. So, if someone finds and views one of your videos, YouTube will automatically start to place more of your content in front of their eyes.
3. Promote videos across all your social media channels
Once you’ve created and uploaded a great video, don’t forget to share it on your other social media channels. The more exposure your YouTube channel gets, the more traffic it will attract.
